A Message from the New Team

“The value of Bicester Vision is that it brings together Businesses and Local Authorities in a way that does not happen otherwise.

It was initiated by the Private Sector which is really keen to find solutions to problems thus enabling Companies to prosper and employ more people. 23 companies , employing  more than 5,000 people in the Bicester area are members, all of whom make a financial contribution.” Adrian Shooter, acting Chairman of Bicester Vision.

Bicester Vision went through an independent review process last summer from which a new Partnership Manager, Placi O’Neill-Espejo, was appointed.

Since Placi took on the role of Partnership Manager she has been working hard on Bicester Vision’s new strategy in order to prioritise resources to allow it to meet the needs and aspirations of the wider business community of Bicester at a time when major developments are beginning to commence in the town.

A number of Task Force Groups are now working on the land and building issues that relate to the creation of new jobs in the catchment area of Bicester, as well as working with partners to define a future blueprint of Bicester.  Bicester Vision works alongside the Economic Development Officers at Cherwell District Council, focusing specifically on the Bicester area and complimenting their work. Other partners with whom it works closely is the Bicester Chamber of Commerce; Bicester Vision sees the role of Bicester Chamber within the partnership as the voice of small businesses in the area.

As part of this new focus Bicester Vision, with the help of local partners, will be organising a Property Forum at the end of February to discuss issues such as land allocation among others.

“I am now looking forward to working with our partners and focus our efforts in making sure that we help to promote Bicester as the place to do business, being a catalyst of support and information for new enterprises interested in coming to area, and a sounding board for existing local small and large organisations” says Placi.
