An exciting future for Bicester
In autumn 2007 Cherwell District Council granted planning consent for the redevelopment of Bicester Town Centre, based around the Bure Place car park.
The partnership consists of Stockdale, Sainsbury’s and Cherwell District Council.
The scheme will consist of a new Sainsbury’s supermarket with café, additional shops, new pedestrianised streets, six screen multiplex cinema, restaurants, bus station, library, council offices, apartments, taxi rank and double storey car park.
The site assembly is nearing completion, the final plans are now being drawn up, the funding arrangements are being put in place and legal agreements are being worked on. Despite the current economic climate it is hoped that work will commence on site during 2009.
