Partnership Event - Apprenticeship Levy

Our Feb meeting is all about the government's Apprenticeship Levy.

Guest speakers and facilitators will include

  • Heather Martin, Oxfordshire Business Support Manager at OxLEP.
    • Heather will talk about the Apprenticeship Levy and offer how OxLEP can support those that seek to develop it programme
  • Mark Eighteen, Commercial Director for Apprenticeships at Activate Learning.
    • Mark will talk about the impact of the Apprenticeship Levy and actions that have already been taken by employers
  • Miranda Markham - Community Relations Directors at Value Retail.
    • Miranda will present a Case Study on Bicester Village apprenticeships that are already underway and share some of the lessons that have been learned.
  • Caroline Clapson - Bicester Infrastructure Delivery Lead at Cherwell District Council & Paddy Patterson – Director at The Apprenticeship & Training Company Ltd.
    • Caroline and Paddy will talk about the newly-created Oxfordshire-based Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA).

To complement the presentations, Adrian Lockwood, Chair of the Skills Board and Deputy Chair of OxLEP, will hold a roundtable discussion with invited guests and all partners on the following topics:

  • Impact of the Apprenticeship Levy on businesses in Bicester
  • Government long-term strategy for apprenticeship programme
  • What educational establishments feel about the value of apprenticeships

 

This event will give you a plenty of useful resources related to Apprenticeships including:

  • Excellent case studies of businesses already engaged with the Apprenticeship programmes
  • The very latest information on the Apprenticeship Levy
  • Useful contacts for organisations offering apprenticeship support to businesses

 

The meeting is open to partners of Bicester Vison and also is open to non-partners alike.

A light lunch will be provided and Q&A is open throughout the duration of the 2-hour meeting.

Arrive at 11:30 for a 12 noon start.

Finish at 14:00 with 30 minutes networking afterwards.

We have recently worked with Lisa Rawlings at Banbury and Bicester College as being an industry partner for Bicester Technology studio school and supporting them on the curriculum, equipment specification, and funding. As well as facilitating other 3rd Party Logistics firms like DHL to be involved, Solar panel contact via the Low Carbon Hub to support on the building design for sustainable construction."
