In October of 2017, we visited an Inward Investment event called MIPIM UK. We proudly flew the flag for Bicester and ensured that the international attendees became aware of Bicester Garden Town. As well as Bicester Vision being there, Cherwell District Council and Brethertons both sent staff to lead conversations on Bicester.
Our aim was to attract the attention of investors, who themselves are looking to find locations to build high-value manufacturies, technical centres and business parks. This falls neatly into the core role for Bicester Vision, which is ensuring that jobs are created in line with the increase in our town population. By attracting the right type of employers to our town, we may reduce car journeys by those with specialist skills, who feel the need to out-commute each day.
At the two day show, we had a great stand that allowed us to spend time with visitors, explaining what Bicester has to offer in terms of lifestyle, independent traders, countryside, history and growth opportunities.
Cherwell District Council worked very hard in preparing and funding the entire event. As well as booking the stand and commissioning its design and fit out, they also produced an excellent prospectus that we handed out to interested parties.

Our stand had a digital screen that played several films commissioned by Bicester Vision and Bicester Village.
We were fortunate to have the support from Brethertons, Bicester Chamber of Commerce, Bicester Town Council, Cherwell District Council and many partners of Bicester Vision.
Without their help, the marketing materials would not have been possible and our impact at the event would have greatly diminished.
