Bicester Health and Wellbeing Survey

Call for Bicester residents to take part in the health and wellbeing survey

Bicester residents are being invited to complete a survey about their health and wellbeing as part of the Healthy New Town programme.
A copy is being sent to every household in Bicester and residents can fill the survey online from today.

Bicester has been chosen as one of ten UK locations where healthy living will be promoted as part of the built environment. The Healthy New Town programme will be launched on 13 May and before it starts, the Healthy New Town Partnership needs to know what the residents’ lifestyle looks like today.

Cllr Barry Wood, leader of Cherwell District Council, said: “To make the Healthy New Town programme work it is essential that we know as much as possible about residents’ health and wellbeing in order to make the right improvements. So I am urging people to take part in the survey.
“Bicester is already changing to enhance residents’ lives. More cycling and walking paths have been created to encourage resident to get more active. Local voluntary groups have been funded to help the whole community. But now it’s time for each resident get more involved if we want the Healthy New Town to become real”

The survey, developed by the University of Oxford, offers residents a way to inform local service providers on what is important to them. The results will be used to improve the services and, in two years’ time, to check if people in Bicester have been living healthier lives since the start of the Healthy New Town Programme.

The survey is anonymous and the information provided will be kept confidential.
Bicester residents can complete the online version of the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Bicester_Healthy_Life

We have a profound interest in the progress of the Town

“The Bicester Chamber of Commerce and Bicester Vision have a profound interest in the progress of the Town and understand that in some circumstances the continual increase in the numbers of houses and businesses will cause disquiet, to individuals and existing business alike. Change is always with us, and both the “Chamber” and “Vision” endeavour to keep the standards from the past while facing, and working, with the challenges of the future.”
