The annual Bicester Bike and Family Fun Day at Pingle Field (opposite Bicester Village Shopping) will be held on Saturday 31 August between 11am and 3pm.
This FREE event will start with a treasure hunt style cycle ride at 10am where participants can collect a map to enable them to make their way around Bicester’s cycle network, picking up clues for a chance of winning a prize.
A BBQ and whole host of activities will then take place back at Pingle Fields (Pingle Drive, Bicester, OX26 6WB) at 11am,including Cyclo-Cross bike racing; an exciting off road course over varied terrain led by Bicester Millennium Cycling Club (BMCC), ‘Pimp My Bike’ with Oxford Youth Arts Project, children’s craft and puppet-making workshops, unicyclists and challenges where participants can try their legs at powering a Wattbike.
Trophies will be awarded to the winners in each age group of the cyclo-cross racing. Races are scheduled to start at the following times:
11.00 – under 8
11.30 – under 10
12.00 – under 12
12.30 – under 14
13.00 – under 16
13.30 – Adult Novices
A competition to find Bicester’s oldest bike is also underway! Local residents are encouraged to bring along their oldest bike on the day and tell us the story behind them (in no more than 150 words). Prizes will be awarded to the oldest bike and best story.

The event is organised by North West Bicester developers, A2Dominion, working with, BioRegional, Grassroots Bicester, Cherwell District Councils Eco Bicester Team, Bicester Green Reuse Centre, Bicester Millennium Cycle Club, Broadribbs Cycles and Oxfordshire County Council.
Entry is FREE and open to all. Participants wanting to take part in the treasure hunt style cycle ride should be at Pingle Field for 10am to collect their route map.
