Bicester residents are invited to get on their bike and bring the family along to a free fun day at Pingle Field (opposite Bicester Village) on Saturday 18 August between 10am and 3pm.
A family-led bike ride around Bicester’s cycle network will kick off the day at 10am, with a BBQ, and fun games to follow at Pingle Field from 11am onwards. Those who turn up on their bikes will enjoy a free BBQ lunch!
Cyclists can see the Bike Doctor, learn how to fix their own bikes, and even get their bike ‘pimped’ by Oxford Youth Arts Project (OYAP). There will also be craft activities for kids to join in with, including making streamers and flags for their wheels.
Cycle rickshaw rides will be on hand to bring people to Pingle Field from the town centre and entertainment will be provided by musical cycles act, Cyc du Soleil. Face painting and competitions will also be taking place throughout the day.
The event is organised by North West Bicester developers, A2Dominion, and sustainability consultants, BioRegional, with support from active local community organisation, Grassroots Bicester and Cherwell District Councils Eco Bicester Team.
Louise Caves, from A2Dominion, said: “Everyone is welcome to come along and find out how easy it is to get around Bicester on your bike. It is a great opportunity to leave the car at home and have fun with your bike or simply enjoy the BBQ, games and craft activities.”
Entry is FREE and open to all, with or without bikes. Participants wanting to come along on the bike ride should be at Pingle Field for 10am.
