A wave of local businesses have registered to be a part of the North West Bicester eco town project following the launch of the Local Business Portal designed by A2Dominion.
Within a few days of the online registration system launching, over 30 potential suppliers and labourers from the local area had already signed up to receive alerts when tenders are requested, updates on the progress of the scheme and access free support from top sustainability consultants at BioRegional on improving their businesses eco-credentials. .
NW Bicester will create an eco settlement to the highest standards of sustainability environmentally, economically and socially. This will be achieved through construction techniques, energy choices, transport and biodiversity schemes amongst other methods. The new eco town development will provide a zero carbon community of 5,000 homes over the next 20 years creating many new business and employment opportunities for local people.
Steve Hornblow, Development Manager, said, “It has always been A2Dominion’s intention to maximise direct employment opportunities for local businesses and residents to benefit from this innovative development. It is fantastic that so many businesses have already signed up and more continue to do so, on a daily basis.
“The Local Business Portal is key to enabling local businesses to get involved and help create a truly sustainable community. We’re on the lookout for a whole range of contractors, suppliers and consultants to form our team. From landscapers to carpenters, plumbers to electricians, if you have a local connection then we want to hear from you.”
