Youth arts charity OYAP Trust received recognition for their work with young people at the Cherwell Business Awards on Friday the 19th April. Helen Le Brocq and Liz McCaffry Payne represented the charity at a gala dinner and were genuinely shocked and delighted when award sponsor Michael McCalmont Director of Cloud 9 announced OYAP Trust as the winner.
The charity were presented with the award and the proceeds of the raffle on the night which raised over £1000.
Helen Le Brocq OYAP Trust’s Director said ‘For a charity to receive this tribute from the business community is a real honour. It is the first award we have ever received in recognition of our innovative arts work with young people at risk. We hope this award will help in our fundraising; it is fantastic to be able to say we are an award-winning charity! We are already starting to have some interesting conversations with local businesses about working together on projects to benefit young people in Cherwell.”
OYAP have recently been chosen as charity of the year by the Bicester based peepul24. peepul24 is based in Grange Mews Launton and is a thriving collection of professional businesses working hard for their clients and each other. Gail Church co-founder of peepul 24 said ” We share OYAPs vision and want to help expand it through the business community by working together we can impact and influence more and provide joined up, better services to the communities we serve. Both organisations are catalyst for inspiring change.”
