Support for Small Business Saturday

To support Small Business Saturday on 6 December, all Cherwell District Council owned car parks will be free for the day.

The move is aimed at encouraging shoppers and visitors to Banbury and Bicester in support of the district’s small businesses. The council owned car parks in Kidlington are permanently free of charge.

Please note all other car park regulations will still apply, for example, the short stay regulations. The free parking will be in effect from 8am until 7pm. All participating car parks will be clearly signed.

Cllr Norman Bolster, Cherwell District Council lead member for estates and the economy, said: “I’m delighted that Cherwell is attracting new growth for small business, and to see the number of empty units declining. Small Business Saturday on 6 December is a national initiative aimed at encouraging support for local independent businesses and the council is enthusiastic to support the idea.”
